Virabhadrasana
(Warrior III Pose)
Starting from Warrior
I (right foot forward) extend through the fingers with the
prayer connection and begin to extend the spine upwards on
the inhale, while drawing the hips down and squared off. Now
shift your weight forward and begin to fold the torso across
the top of the right thigh, so the back and arms are
parallel with the floor. Draw the chin in, while keeping the
neck and spine extended, with the inhale, lift the left foot
up until the leg is parallel with the floor, fully extend
thru the heel with the foot flexed. Have your left thigh
rotate inwards so your hips are squared off with the floor.
Begin to straighten the right leg to secure your posture. In
releasing out of Warrior III from the exhale, draw the left
leg to the floor. Begin to lift your torso with the arms
extended slowly return back to Warrior I. Straighten the
right leg and draw that prayer down to your heart center and
step forward into Mountain Pose.
2)
Vrksasana
(Tree Pose)
Stand in Mountain Pose
with the hands in prayer at the Heart center. Heels should
be placed underneath your hips, draw focus to the corner of
the feet. Shift the weight to the right side, keep that
right leg strong begin to lift the left foot and place the
sole of the foot against the upper inner thigh of the right
leg, have the foot pointing towards the floor. Once you
establish the tree, gently draw the knee back to open the
left hip while drawing the pubic bone and lower abs towards
the spine and extend the spine upwards. To come out of it
release back to Mountain Pose . |

ROOT CHAKRA or BASE CHAKRA
The Root chakra is located at the base of the spine and
groin area, also known as the “Seat of Kundalini”. This
chakra is also animal or survival base by nature. It is
also drawn by taste and smell. The Root chakra is
associated with adrenals, kidneys, bladder, muscles,
pelvic area, hips, building of cells, and arterial blood.
The main development of this chakra takes place between 0
to 5 Years old.
The Root Chakra links us to the physical world, solidity
and support - especially to the physical body. It is the
foundation of energy.
The Base or Root Chakra manifests strongly in the
motivation to ensure personal survival by way of food,
rest, and sexual expression. Spiritually and has to do
with protection of individual integrity. The Root Chakra
will unlock our past lives, helping us to bring in old
talents and wisdom in this lifetime. This is an energy
center that provides a solid ground from which to
establish our equilibrium in order to ascend to higher
awareness.
