Asanas

1)                 Virabhadrasana        (Warrior III Pose)

Starting from Warrior I (right foot forward) extend through the fingers with the prayer connection and begin to extend the spine upwards on the inhale, while drawing the hips down and squared off. Now shift your weight forward and begin to fold the torso across the top of the right thigh, so the back and arms are parallel with the floor. Draw the chin in, while keeping the neck and spine extended, with the inhale, lift the left foot up until the leg is parallel with the floor, fully extend thru the heel with the foot flexed. Have your left thigh rotate inwards so your hips are squared off with the floor. Begin to straighten the right leg to secure your posture. In releasing out of Warrior III from the exhale, draw the left leg to the floor. Begin to lift your torso with the arms extended slowly return back to Warrior I. Straighten the right leg and draw that prayer down to your heart center and step forward into Mountain Pose.

2)         Vrksasana      (Tree Pose)

Mantra/Prayer

We have the warm moment, this twilight

            of the green summertime.

            Let us live in it.

            We have the augury,

            the sun will wane.

            Let us harvest.

            We have the promise,

            The sun will ascend again

Let us remember the turning of the wheel.
